"And Bread & Roses and the Marin Rose Society last week named a hybrid tea rose after Mimi Fariña, founder of Bread and Roses.

The winning bid for guitar lessons with Bob Weir, auctioned by the Rainforest Action Network, was $8,500. When I asked how many lessons that would cover, the official estimate was that the winner probably would be able to play "Touch of Grey'' by the end of the afternoon."
