Winery will host benefit tribute to Grateful Dead


Warwick — The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in co-operation with Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery, will host a tribute to the music of the Grateful Dead on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24 at the winery.

The festival, which goes from noon to 5 p.m. on both days, will celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia. Artists performing at this year’s festival include: Professor Louie and The Crowmatix, The Honky Tonk Gurus (Jim Weider, Randy Ciarlante/ Mike Kemp with special guest guitarist Sid McGinnis), Uncle Shoehorn, Soylent Blue, Reflections, The Deadbeats, Mike Baglione, Tough Mama and Steve Lane.

In addition to music, Pane the winery’s bakery café, will be serving food, both indoors and at the outside BBQ.

The winery is donating a portion of all wine sales to the Leukemia and the Lymphoma Society. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The winery is located at 114 Little York Road. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.wvwinery.com or call the tasting room at 258-4858.
